'Dog Sitter!'  is a single-player, point and click, multiple choice game for web browsers. You play as a dog sitter who was hired for the week to make sure the owners beloved pet 'Chorngus' gets their proper nutrition while they are away on vacation.

DEVELOPMENT

A game with a goofy premise requires a visual style to match. The art direction was influenced by 90's cable cartoons, while the combination of 2D and 3D elements was   inspired by old CD-ROM games. I used loud, contrasting colors to create a bold user interface while maintaining readability through the use of neutral colors to serve as a resting spot for the players eyes. The decision to make a time based memory game came from my experience growing up as a child replaying the same web browser games for years. They didn't have much in the way of content but their absurd premise  always drew me back in. Nothing about 'DogSitter!' makes any sense. For one, candy is part of this dog's diet. Second, the player got this job through a poorly managed HTML web forum for dog sitting. And yet, the game is such a fun, silly experience that players aren't concerned with its illogical world building.
